These scarves are inspired by the work of legendary Austrian artist Gustav Klimt (1862–1918). A member of the Vienna Art Nouveau movement, Klimt is best known for his mosaic-inspired paintings of women, often gilded. which is featured in this variety of silk scarves. This scarf is inspired by Klimt’s 1918 painting, Lady with Fan, one of his last works before his death. A woman in elegant dress is set against a gold background accentuated with colorful flowers and a turquoise bird. The work is highly influenced by new trends in modern art, such as Japonism, and celebrates both nature and the female form.
